Teresa Sahhar is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry with a focus in Christian Counseling from Nazarene Bible College, and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Regis University. She has also completed a post-graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition, Teresa has completed specialized training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) – an approach that, according to research, sees 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and approximately 90% show significant improvements.
Teresa Sahhar is a caring and compassionate therapist who invites individuals, couples, and families to embark on a journey toward healing and wholeness. Regardless of your present circumstance or the pain you may be experiencing, she believes there is always hope. Teresa understands that it takes great courage to take that first step of admitting that you need help navigating through some of the storms of life – she will be with you from that first phone call to the moment you realize you have the confidence to walk out the growth you have experienced in counseling on your own.
Teresa Sahhar, her husband Peter, and their three grown children have been Coloradans since 1995. Over the years, Teresa Sahhar has been involved with the small group ministry at their church, led foreign mission trips, participated as an altar prayer minister, and helped establish and served in leadership for a local Spanish speaking congregation. She believes it is God’s desire for people to find healing for the wounds they have experienced. Being a therapist is one of the ways she allows God to use her to help bring that healing.
William G. T. Shedd said, “A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are made for.” Maybe you believe your life, your marriage, or your family was made for more than you are experiencing. Perhaps you feel you have been crippled by the storms of life. Maybe you could benefit from some time in the safe, healing harbor of counseling where you, your marriage, or your family can find what is needed to live the life you were created to live. There is hope for you. Much like a grand ship spends time in the harbor for maintenance and for gathering what it needs for a daring successful journey, your time spent in counseling can help you find what you need to live a more joyful and fulfilling life.
